“Urban States” by Moving Drawing
From now until October 27, 2026, MUJI Windsor House Open MUJI is hosting the "Urban States" exhibition. Featuring artworks by Hong Kong local artist, Charlotte Lui, the exhibition centers around the theme of "city state," using simple lines to depict realistic portraits that capture the busyness of urbanites, the tedium of office workers, and the leisure of seniors.
Through everyday scenes of Hong Kong, the displayed artworks explore shared experiences common to modern metropolises: social distancing, the flow of crowds, systemic order, and subtle yet authentic deviations. Every movement—seemingly random yet regulated by the rhythm of the city—outlines a delicate relationship connecting people to others, to space, and to the system. These are all stories of Hong Kong.
Everyone is welcome to step into this "Urban States," woven together by lines, density, and emotion.
